La Habana.- Cuba llevará ocho luchadores, incluido el monarca olímpico de París 2020 Luis Alberto Orta, al Torneo Panamericano de Luchas 2025 que comenzará en México y que otorga pases al Campeonato Mundial de esa disciplina deportiva en Croacia, informó este viernes un medio local.
Los luchadores cubanos salieron desde este miércoles a la ciudad mexicana de Monterrey, sede del 8 al 11 del certamen, para realizar una base de entrenamiento, según un reporte del diario oficial especializado Jit.
La delegación intentará conseguir cupos para el Campeonato Mundial de Zagreb en Croacia que debe realizarse del 13 al 21 de septiembre próximo.
El metodólogo de la comisión nacional de luchas, Manuel Rodríguez, dijo a Jit que “el conjunto quedó integrado por tres gladiadores del estilo grecorromano, dos en la modalidad libre y tres en la lucha femenina”.
Luis Alberto Orta (67 kg), monarca olímpico de Tokio 2020, encabeza la delegación de luchadores grecorromanos junto con el campeón mundial Gabriel Rosillo (97 kg) y Oscar Pino (130 kg), plata del orbe en 2019.
Por la lucha libre competirán Geandry Garzón Jr. (74 kg) y Arturo Silot (97 kg), ambos titulares en los Juegos Panamericanos Júnior de Cali 2021.
Las mujeres estarán representadas por Yusneilys “Chiqui” Guzmán (50 kg) y Milaimis Marín (76 kg), medallistas de plata y bronce en los Juegos Olímpicos de París 2024, respectivamente, así como la joven granmense Yainelis Sanz (57 kg), oro en Cali 2021, acorde con Jit.
El pentacampeón olímpico Mijaín López, ya retirado, irá como invitado al evento, según la fuente. –sn–

in reply to myrmepropagandist • • •This is mostly true from my observations as a life long cat haver. Female cats are more vocal (in human hearing range, at least*) than males. They also do meow longer and louder from my experience too. (especially during heat periods!)
