I would have thought the modern USB standard had current protection features. I thought it was limited to 500 milliamperes at 5 volts until special circuitry to enable and monitor higher power levels. Something something UL/CSA listing requirements too

Y'all, TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS HAVE NEVER AND WILL NEVER LEAD TO IMROVEMENTS IN WAGES OR WORKING HOURS. THE WORKERS WILL NOT BE THE BENEFICIARIES.

(I could go on a rant about how "AI" doesn't really save time, and how it is a tool for avoiding paying workers and labour suppression, but that's a different topic)
