Yes, Please Call It the War Department currentaffairs.org/news/yes-pl…

Pete Hegseth believe that this new name will emphasize the “lethality” of the department. But what it will actually do—assuming it is followed through on, which is doubtful—is make it more obvious that the U.S. state is a warmongering aggressor, and galvanize opposition to U.S. military spending. It was difficult to convince Congress to cut “defense spending,” since, after all, who can oppose defense? On the other hand, “war spending” is easy to make a case against. The American people support defense, but they are sick of war.

We are being pushed into a militarised future we don’t want - militarisation of civilian spaces

[...]We are being pushed into a militarised future we don’t want.

This phenomena is visible in many forms:

  • States bringing military technologies into our town squares by establishing partnerships with the “defence technology” industry - militarisation of civilian spaces.
  • Civilian technology companies encroaching on battlefields, taking civilian data with them - militarisation of civilian tech.
  • Private investment firms and funds pushing unimaginable amounts of money, creating incentives for surveillance and war, and serving investors before people – a privatisation of military tech

[...]

Privacy International - 2025-09-11 09:00:08 GMT

After 9/11, there was an explosion of surveillance technologies advancing mass monitoring under the guise of security.Today, we’re watching a similar shift in defence technology.

Elon Musk's Boring Company suspends work on Vegas airport tunnel after 'crushing injury' | TechCrunch techcrunch.com/2025/09/11/elon…

'crushing injury' - d'owchies!! Sadly, I can imagine - easily - how such an injury occurred. (do a History of NYC and underwater tunnels, and you'll see what I mean. New York did this a long time ago, and there were some seriously horrible injuries on the jobs)
