Terms of Service

1. Preamble


These Terms of Service govern your use of our Lemurs space (lemurs.space). By using this service, you agree to comply with these terms in their entirety.

2. Code of Conduct


2.1 Discriminatory Behavior


The following are strictly prohibited on this instance:
- Any form of racist speech or behavior
- Sexism in all its forms
- Homophobia
- Transphobia, including intentional deadnaming and misgendering
- Discrimination against people with disabilities
- Xenophobia
- Caste-based discrimination
- Promotion of conversion therapy
Criticism of governments and religions is permitted as long as it is not used as a proxy for discrimination.

2.2 Sensitive Content


- All sexually explicit or violent content must be marked as sensitive or include a content warning (CW)
- Such content must serve an artistic, educational, or documentary purpose
- This rule also applies to suggestive or provocative content, even in the absence of explicit nudity
- Images of dead bodies, bloody injuries, and other gore are subject to the same rules
- Particularly obscene content may be entirely prohibited at the moderators' discretion
- Profile pictures and header images may not contain sexually explicit or violent content

2.3 Violence and Harassment


The following are strictly forbidden:
- Incitement to violence
- Promotion of violent ideologies
- Calls for assassination, murder, or physical assault
- Support for violent groups or events
- Harassment in any form
- Block evasion
- Coordinated attacks against other users
- Disclosure of private personal information (doxxing)

2.4 Misinformation


- Sharing false or misleading information is prohibited
- Links from unreliable sources may not be shared
- Special attention will be paid to content that might mislead or endanger others' safety

2.5 Intellectual Property and AI


- All third-party content must be clearly attributed to its author, creator, or source
- For adult content, performers must be credited
- Use of generative AI must be explicitly disclosed
- Accounts may not be dedicated exclusively to posting AI-generated content

3. Rule Enforcement


- Moderators reserve the right to enforce these rules according to their judgment
- Repeated violations may result in temporary or permanent account suspension
- Moderation decisions may be appealed to the moderation team

4. Modifications


We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Users will be informed of significant changes.

Rules

  1. No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, or casteism. Transphobic behavior such as intentional misgendering and deadnaming is strictly prohibited. Promotion of "conversion therapy" is strictly prohibited. Criticism of governments and religions is permissible, unless being used as a proxy for discrimination.
  2. Sexually explicit or violent media must and be marked as sensitive or with a content warning and serve an artistic, educational, or documentary purpose. This includes content that is particularly provocative even if it may not show specific body parts, as well as dead bodies, bloody injuries, and other gore. Particularly obscene content may be prohibited entirely. Profile pictures and header images may not contain sexually explicit or violent media.
  3. No incitement of violence or promotion of violent ideologies. Calling for people or groups to be assassinated, murdered, or attacked physically is strictly prohibited. Support for violent groups or events is prohibited.
  4. No harassment, block evasion, dogpiling, or doxxing of others. Repeat attempts to communicate with users who have blocked you or creation of accounts solely to harass or insult individuals is strictly prohibited. Coordinated activity to attack other users is prohibited. Posting of private personal information about others is prohibited.
  5. Do not share information widely-known to be false and misleading. False and misleading information and links from low-quality sources may not be posted, especially if they are likely to mislead or confuse others or endanger their safety.
  6. Content created by others must be attributed, and use of generative AI must be disclosed. Content created by others must clearly provide a reference to the author, creator, or source. For adult content, this should include performers. Accounts may not solely post AI-generated content.

Privacy Statement

At the time of registration, and for providing communications between the user account and their contacts, the user has to provide a display name (pen name), an username (nickname) and a working email address. The names will be accessible on the profile page of the account by any visitor of the page, even if other profile details are not displayed. The email address will only be used to send the user notifications about interactions, but wont be visibly displayed. The listing of an account in the node's user directory or the global user directory is optional and can be controlled in the user settings, it is not necessary for communication.

This data is required for communication and is passed on to the nodes of the communication partners and is stored there. Users can enter additional private data that may be transmitted to the communication partners accounts.

At any point in time a logged in user can export their account data from the account settings. If the user wants to delete their account they can do so at https://lemurs.space/settings/removeme. The deletion of the account will be permanent. Deletion of the data will also be requested from the nodes of the communication partners.
